The sun is shining, the birds are chirruping, the faint aroma of yesterday’s BBQ smoke is lingering around Leeds…and I am in the library. Ace times! First thing’s first first though – I hope everyone enjoyed their bank holiday weekend! May the 4th have been with you and all that.

Before I fill you in on some seriously exciting news, I would just like to say a massive bravo (times loads) to Stephen King. For those of you that didn’t know, in 1982 he wrote ‘The Body’ which later became the bittersweet hit, ‘Stand By Me’. I watched it for the first time this week, and I’m a big fan. Four friends head on the journey of their lives in order to check out the dead body of a local young’en. Dreaming big, right? King penned something brilliant here. The film is packed with one, two, eight and ten-liners which emulate the blissfully brilliant relationship between these four (excellently named, I might add) buddies. “We knew exactly where we were and exactly where we were going”. That might just give you a hint of the curious voyage that these apparently normal 12 year-olds head on. Nostalgia definitely sells, my friends.
Hey there beautiful people…It’s me again. I have been struggling to find a point of reference for this week’s post. It certainly ain’t easy. Once you’ve covered the BIG TWO (movies and t-shirts), you’re kind of stumped. But do not fear! I have been dwelling on the word ‘Arcane’ itself which means to be known or understood by very few. Funny really, because you might imagine movies and t-shirts to be understood by everyone equally. You watch them and you wear them, right? Well, WRONG. Arcane movie tees are acer than all of that because they travel beyond the boundaries of the obvious.
I hope that a truly eggcellent Easter was had by one and all (forgive the shameful opening pun!) Now that it’s over though, it may seem as if we are in for one long stretch of boring before the sun decides to come out and play. This is not the case. Put down the chocolate rabbits and step away from the font. Why not treat yourself to one of these ace Arcane t-shirts at the unbelievable discount clearance price of a measly tenner? A thousand pennies? That really isn’t very much to pay to get ‘Back to the Future’ now is it? As a super fan of the company, I can’t recommend them enough.
Looking forward to the BAFTAs on Sunday? The Arcaners will be there… obviously not in person – not after the last time! But we’ve sent our movie t-shirts to the PR folk of all the nominated luvvies, so some are definitely bound to wear them. A mate’s missus works in the shoes game and reckons our t-shirts set-off a nice pair of Jimmy Choos like nothing else.

With the January football transfer window open, we’re taking a good hard look at our squad and wondering if there’s a few cheap Scandinavian imports that we can bring in. Alas we’ve barely got enough money to buy a packet of Panini stickers and bottle of pop combo – plus if being good at football is a prerequisite to working here, we’d all be on the way out! So we’re stuck with each other… for now. Our full list of runner and riders are:
